Located in the beautiful Puerto de la Cruz, Meson Los Gemelos stands out as a must-visit restaurant for locals and tourists alike. Diners consistently rave about the generous portions and affordable prices. Notably, Stephen Bithell praised the “fantastic” steak with pepper sauce, paired with a litre of delightful house white wine for just 44 euros.

The restaurant’s charm lies not only in its delectable offerings but also in its warm and attentive staff, who maintain a pleasant demeanor even during busy hours. Customers like David Ioan Popescu recall the exceptional croquettes and the surprise of quality house wine, with long waits often evident but seen as a sign of the restaurant’s popularity.

However, some challenges were noted regarding communication, as staff members may have limited English-speaking skills, which may require some creative gestures. Still, the authentic culinary experience, characterized by fresh, well-prepared dishes, ensures that a visit is well worth the wait. As highlighted by Magdalena Woloszynska, if there's a queue, signing in at the entrance is advisable—it’s a testament to the quality one can expect. Overall, Meson Los Gemelos offers a rich, fulfilling dining experience that keeps diners coming back for more.

the waiting time was quite long even though we arrived around half 3. staff don’t really speak English, so communication can be a bit tricky, but with some body language and a few words you can still manage. Portions are very generous, so we couldn’t finish everything and had to take some away.

The best place to eat in Puerto de la Cruz all things considered. I’ve been here a few years ago and when I came back to Tenerife it was one of the stops I was excited for. The portions are very generos and the prices are more than inviting. The taste is also great, had the best croquettes I ever had, and the house wine was a pleasant surprise . Bear in mind that there is usually a queue, and you can wait up to 1 hour to be seated , but this just serves as testimony to the quality of the restaurant.

A great place to eat. The staff are amazing - considering the amount of customers they have to serve each night. Would recommend and come again.

When you ask a local where to eat in Puerto de la Cruz they will almost inevitably say Los Gemelos and I am happy we gave it a go because it was truly worth it. Yes, the wait is about 40-50 minute; you arrive and put your name on a list and wait until they call your name. The fresh fish is amazing - we had 3 mains in 2 because we could not decide and I am happy we did that. Recommend the grilled octopus, salmon steak and grilled sole. Also unmissable are the garlic shrimps. Its a local place run by local people, the vibe is authentic - no much English is spoken but it shouldn’t be a problem.

NB: You sign up for seating at the board hanging by the entrance. The restaurant is more like a guachinche, which is nice. Feels local and easy. Waiters are annoyed at tourists, so have a list for what you want written down (in spanish). Went here for two dinners. The first dinner we ordered chicken croquettes, canarian grilled cheese, padrons and the grilled meat platter. The mixed plates are LARGE, and we finished about a third of it, especially after appetizers. Grilled meat platter was good! Loads of different cuts. Order it with the delicious mojo verde on the side! Padrons were fine, croquettes were boring, but the cheese was delicious! So buy the cheese and the platter. Second time around we did the seafood platter, and we shouldn’t have. Dry as sand fish, grilled to smitherins, and rubbery textures on the squid and mussels. Really hard on the palate if you’re accustomed to more northern european fish. It all tasted like FISH FISH, and it wasn’t spiced, sauced or interesting at all. Just a whole plate of FISH. Avoid the mixed plate and get a dish, might be better. The wines are table wines. The tinto was cheap and watery. The blanco was better. Best: Queso asado and parrillada de carne con fritas (with mojo verde). The best canarian eatery IN town that we’ve tried. Absolutely worth a visit.

The food was delicious and fresh. Unfortunately, the glass I received was stained with lipstick, so the cleaning needs to be improved because it was immediately visible. (Dark red lipstick on the glass) You often have to wait for a table, but it's worth it. Super tasty.
